Passing the time....

What do you do when Dad and the older boys are at a Young Men's activity?

You go buy goggles so you can be prepared for the summer swimming lessons and outings......

And then you make SMORES.......of course!

The gooey-er the better!! Fun times!

Jacob's Preschool Graduation

Well, Jacob graduated from preschool today! MY BABY GRADUATED FROM PRESCHOOL!! And just incase you didn't catch that, I said, "My BABY graduated from preschool!" What? How did that happen? I can't believe he is almost 5 yrs old and will start kindergarten next year.

He is growing up so fast. And while I'm a little nervous about him starting "real" school, I'm pretty sure he'll be fine.....it's not like he got asked to sit by the teacher for the whole graduation.....only part of it! :) (clearing throat now).

Here a few cute pics of the occasion.

Jacob and Miss Margene...that is, of "Miss Margene's Preschool."

Getting his awards and treats. Right after she handed them to him, he dropped them all over the floor. It's not like he was the only one who dropped all his stuff.....oh wait a minute.....yes he was! OOPS! (He'll be fine, right?)

The Proud Graduate!

Nice family picture.....aaahhhh! (sweet sigh)

Now onto Kindergarten shots. Yikes! It was a nice ceremony and a nice day. Way to go, Jacob! I'm so proud of you.

But please stop growing up so fast! I can't stand it anymore!!

The Ducks

Every Spring we are visited by a Duck pair....I like to think of them as Mommy and Daddy duck. They literally have been coming for years. They are so cute. They waddle from home to home in our neighborhood. They are so fun to watch and they totally make my day. Here a couple pics of them.

And here is my dog, Odie, staring intently out the window at the ducks. "Please let me go out there and GET THOSE DUCKS!" (Sorry, Odie, not a chance).

About a week ago, we noticed a duck in the street a few houses away from ours. Sadly, the Mommy duck got hit by a car and was killed. Nobody I've talked to knows exactly what happened. It is so sad because we still see the Daddy duck come and he's all by himself. Although some in my neighborhood have said that they have seen him with another male duck. But it's still just not right, ya know? We are saddened around here. And we will miss seeing the pair together every Spring.

Do any of you know if ducks have companions for life or will this Daddy duck find someone else? Just curious. Life just won't be the same without them.....

Happy 40th to me!!

Tuesday was my birthday! I turned FORTY! Yes, I am admitting it. I feel like I should be acting more grown up. (should, being the key word.....because I just don't see it happening anytime soon....) But I also feel a little more empowered, a little more like an adult, and a lot more old....but not really. I'm proud to be 40. It's going to happen no matter what, right? I might as well enjoy the journey along the way! (okay, now I'm just grasping.....jk)

My Mom gave me this tag to hang from the rear-view mirror of my car and I proudly displayed it right away. "LOOK WHO'S 40" I won't comment on the "black" color....isn't it great? (Thanks Mom)

Want to see my present? I know you do! It's something I have wanted for a long time. And I've waited patiently for the precise moment it went on sale for a HUGE discount. The proper title of this gift is called, "Reversible Omega." It's a necklace....It has gold on one side and silver on the other. It is beautiful and I feel like a real queen when I wear it. (A little out of my league, really....but I'm getting used to it). Here is a picture, which by the way, doesn't do justice for its beauty! (I already had the "slide"---that's just attached because I wore it on Sunday).

And here is what I woke up to in the morning! The biggest smiley faced balloon I've ever seen. It made my day! Thanks honey!

When the kids got home from school, we all went bowling. I did HORRIBLE! (nothing unusual). And Todd was happy because he got the high score.....but really wasn't anything to shout about in the end (sorry Todd). But we had a good time.

It was a great day, filled with many phone calls, emails, and comments on FB....thanks everyone for making it such a special day for me.

What happens now that I'm beginning my 40's? YIKES!

The Paper Bag Bandit Rides Again.....Way to go, Eric!

So, last Wednesday Eric was in a play at his school. The title was "The Paper Bag Bandit Rides Again." Eric was the Paper Bag Bandit. And he was the BAD GUY! (And I'm afraid to admit that he did a REALLY good job of it.....)

There were only 2 people in the whole play who had microphone's and he was one of them. So we could hear him really good. Darn! He's got talent in the drama department. He did such a good job.

I must admit that I was nervous, but for some reason, not as nervous as when he sang in the band at school. Surprisingly, I only shed a couple of tears.....and only in the beginning. Then I just sat back and enjoyed it. I was so proud of him.

Here are few pics of the night.....in his "get-up!"

The play only lasted about 30 minutes or so, but he did an amazing job! Way to go, Eric!!! (You played a good villian....)

What's up with that? :)
