Happy Halloween 2013

Can you believe we've already had another Halloween? The years are just flying by way too fast!

Kyle wanted to be a character from Minecraft this year... It's a new online game he wants to play WAY too much.  He wanted to be a Creeper (whatever that is).  We found him a green, square head at Target and a foam sword to go with it (all from the Minecraft game)...but we realized he wouldn't be able to wear it at school because they aren't allowed to wear masks of any kind or bring any weapons (real or fake) either.

So...he settled on Charlie Brown.  I even got him a "bald head" accessory, but he wouldn't wear it...crazy kid!

The Halloween parade at school...

Jacob whipped on by too fast at the parade, so I didn't get a picture of him...But I did help in his room for the Halloween party, so I got a picture then.

Jacob also wanted to be a Minecraft character, Steve, who apparently also has a square head, but is brown.  And once again, he couldn't wear it at school because of the reasons I explained above...SO, he decided to be a Ninja!  Which was great, since I already had that costume downstairs in my stash of Halloween costumes...

Those are some serious muscles...

Cute Charlie Brown...

And here's Dallin.  He didn't want to go trick-or-treating this year...he just wanted his own stash of "good" candy, which he wanted to buy after Halloween so he could get a good deal.  A guy after my own heart...(he wanted to wait for the best deal--love that!)

And Brandon is too old to go trick-or-treating, but he did go out with Dallin and a few friends to some homes in our neighborhood, those families who love the youth of this ward....awesome people!

Grandma Johnson came over in her standard costume...complete with her "glasses" disguise and creepy eyeball earrings.  Ha!

The candy stash...

Brandon came home from "trick-or-treating" with this addition to his costume.  I don't know where he got it, but it was pretty funny!  He went to a 10:30 showing of Ender's Game (a brand new movie) with some friends and got home around 1:00 am...ugh!

It was a fun Halloween, but of course, it went way too fast.  The holidays have begun!  It's going to be 2014 before we know it!  UGH!

Happy Halloween!

Birthday celebration for Grandma Jones

We got together with the Jones family to celebrate Grandma Jones' birthday.  She would have turned 72 this year.  It's hard that she's gone.  I can't believe it's been 2 years. We all really miss her.

We had dinner (of homemade pizzas) and visited with the family.

Then Grandpa wanted us to watch a video of his 50th high school reunion.  It was pretty funny!  He was in a group who sang a few songs from "his" days and they danced too.  It was pretty entertaining...Can't you see us all entertained?  :)

The cousins had a great time hanging out together.  (Mike and Shauna's family weren't able to come because Shauna had just had surgery.  We missed them!)

Even the teenagers enjoyed it!  :)  And Uncle Ryan in the background...he was very interested.

Cute little Jasmine!  What a darling picture!  (And then there's Jacob in the background, probably intending to do "rabbit ears."   Such a boy!  :)

Towards the end, during some of the songs, the little cousins all started dancing together.  It was really cute.  Grandma Jones would have loved it!

It was a fun evening.  Happy Birthday Grandma!  We love and miss you tons!

Halloween Party 2013

We had our annual Halloween party with my brother and his family.  It was so fun!

(But first a few pictures of Jacob in the leaves in our front yard)...

Here are the "witches hats" I made for our treat for the party.  Cute, eh?

We played a really fun game.  Michelle brought glazed donuts and we hung them along a huge string, so the kids could bite them off (without using their hands, of course).  It was so funny!
I'm sad that most of these pictures are blurry...

And these are the treats my mom brought!  So cute, huh?  Little minion twinkie cupcakes!
The kids loved them...

We had a really fun time.  Of course we watched, "It's a Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown."  That's a tradition.  No matter how old the kids get, they all still love watching this movie together!

Leatherby's

We went to Leatherby's!

Kyle and his friend, Spencer.  We brought him along...

Kyle didn't like the top flavor of his ice cream because it had nuts in it, so my mom decided she wanted it...But, she couldn't eat it just plain.  She needed some hot fudge topping.  So she asked the waiter to bring her some.  (Keep in mind here that the ice cream from Kyle's sundae wasn't that much...take a close look at the amount of fudge topping she got)...

And...yes, she used the entire cup!  It was pretty funny!

Grandma likes her some fudge topping!  We all had a great time!  :)
