Brandon's Junior Prom Feb 8, 2014

Well, Brandon went to his first Junior Prom dance a few weeks ago. This is a picture of him before he went to pick up his date. He asked a girl named Katelyn Wright.  Of course, she lives on the East side, so I didn't get to see them together before the big event....real bummer!  But what a handsome boy!  (And I love all my "smiley's" in the background)...  :)

Here is the flower/wrist corsage for Brandon's date....

This is actually a "picture" of the dance pictures...does that make sense?  This is the group Brandon went with.  Brandon and Katelyn are in the front, just to the right of the center couple.  Her dress was maroon.

So beautiful!

These next few pictures are just ones that Brandon took on his phone....so they're not great.  The bigger I blow them up, the more "grainy" they are.

Another one from Brandon's phone....taken at the Capital building.  Gosh, I still remember my junior prom when I went to the dance at the Capital.  In some ways, it seems like yesterday, in others, it's been a LONG time!  I'll have to see if I can find a picture of me and Todd at our Junior Prom (our Senior year)...that would be hilarious!  (Kind of like a photo bomb to our son!  HA!)

These days when the kids go to the school dances, it's a "full day" event."  On this particular date (February 8),  Katelyn and another one of her friends had a dance recital during the day, lasting until close to 6:00 in the evening.  So in order to stay true to the traditions, Brandon and his other friend took their dates to play laser tag and went to dinner on Friday, the day before the actual dance was scheduled (Feb. 7).

Apparently a bunch of other kids went and did the activity with them also on Friday night.  Brandon said it was tons of fun.  And then he and his friend (and their dates) went to Olive Garden for dinner.  The next day, the day of the dance, Brandon picked up Katelyn and they only had time to go to the capital for pictures and have a few dances.  Afterwards, they went out to Cold Stone for an ice cream treat.  I think a lot of his friends did that also.

Brandon said the evening (and the day before) was a huge success!!!  Way to go Brandon.  I'm glad you had fun at your Jr. Prom!   Now please stop growing up so fast!  :)

More Ugly Ties and Cards...

Here's the latest few ugly ties I sent to Eric.  I think I only sent three of them....I can't remember which one I kept...
.

Look at that beautiful striped one.  And actually, Todd picked out the "dragon" tie.  He bought it on a trip to the DI all by himself.  Funny, eh?

You just can't go wrong with a "money" tie, can you?  And the beauty on the end?  I don't know what it's made of, but it looks like the old shag carpet we used to have when I was a kid...in the 70's?  Hilarious!

And here are a few of the latest cards I made...so much fun!

You make me Smile!  Have a happy day!

Dallin's Concert--The Viking Showcase!

We had a concert last week for Dallin.  He plays the clarinet in the regular band and the piano in the jazz band.  He loves it so much.  I've just gotta say that the music teacher at Bonneville Jr. High is so awesome!  He motivates those kids to play their little hearts out.  He is such a fun teacher.  Brandon loved him and now Dallin loves him.  Way to go, Mr. Mansfield!  :)

Dallin did an awesome job playing his instruments!

This is just a random picture of what our dog, Ziggy, does underneath Dallin's bed.  He just started this terrible behavior about a year ago.  Basically, he gets toilet paper from the garbage and then takes it under Dallin's bed and shreds it up in little, teeny, tiny pieces!  It is so frustrating to Dallin.  The rest of his room is clean, but if you look under his bed, you'll find a big surprise!  Really annoying, actually!  Dumb dog!  (Can I say that?)

And here is a picture of the pretty vase of flowers that the Stake RS presidency brought to our family last Sunday.  Todd got a new calling.  He is our new Stake President.  It was so nice of them to bring us the flowers, I wanted to make sure and get a picture of them.  It made my day!

Well, that's all I've got for now folks!  Have a wonderful day!  :)

Pinewood Derby for Jacob

We just had Pinewood Derby for our FIFTH boy last week!  Holy Cow!  Jacob still has a couple more years of racing.  Fun stuff!  :)

Here's Jacob before the race, holding his cool, blue car...

I don't know why I can't hardly ever get a clear picture with my camera, but for some reason, I can't.  Here is a picture of all the cars from our stake.  Blurry, but awesome!

And here's Jacob after the race.  He did great!  He came in 3rd place (out of 4)...but who's keeping track, right?  He had tons of fun building and racing his car.  Nothing like the Pinewood Derby!

Way to go, Jacob!  You're amazing!!  (And so cute, if I do say so myself.)
