Brandon's Concerto Night!

Brandon tried out a few months ago to be one of the soloists for Cottonwood's Concerto Night and he made it!  He practiced long and hard for this performance.  Here are a couple of the invitations we handed out...

Here's the card I made for him.  He DOES rock, by the way!  I even made an envelope to match.  Oh, so cute!  :)

I got him a "music" mug and filled it with cashews...his favorite.  And then I attached a little saxophone ornament to the bag, even though the instrument he played for the concerto was the flute (I couldn't fine one of those).   So I decided on a sax, since he plays that too.  He is such a talented guy!  So versatile!

Oh, I just think that saxophone is so cute!  :) I also got him a pack of his favorite gum!

Then I put it all in his room on his bed so he would find it after school.
(Good luck and you'll do great, Brandon!)

All dressed up for the big night!

Brandon was one of 6 soloists for the evening.  When we got there, each of the soloist's picture was displayed on a table just outside the auditorium.  It was pretty awesome!  Brandon is on the far right...

And of course my camera always takes blurry shots, but here he is playing his concerto.  The song was like 10 minutes long and he played most of that time with an orchestra behind him.  It was so cool!  He did a wonderful job.  All throughout his song, I was thinking, "Man, kid, take a breath!"  He was playing so fast, it was hard to tell when he snuck one in..  Very impressive!

It was such a fun night!  Brandon "rocked" his solo and was amazing!  Of course he played in every other song as well and they were all wonderful!  I was so proud of him for all of his hard work and dedication.  He is such a talented musician.

We love you Brandon!  You are simply amazing!  Great job!!

Happy 72nd Birthday Grandma Johnson!

Grandma Johnson turned 72 years old on March 7th.  We all went to her favorite place for her birthday:  Leatherbys!  It was a wonderful family outing...

Blue and Gold Banquet 2014

Well, we just went to another Blue and Gold Banquet for one of our several boys!!  How many more do we have?  I think there is only one left...maybe two?  Either way, we've been to LOTS of scout activities!

Jacob has wonderful Bear leaders.  Look how cute they decorated the tables...

Jacob was in charge of helping with the Flag ceremony.  Of course all of my pictures of him were blurry...this is the best one.  He was so excited to hold the flag!

And here's a bunch of recycled items the boys made during their den meetings.  Jacob was so excited to display all of his hard work!

See how excited he is?

Another cute display...

We had a great time.  Way to go Jacob!  Thanks for working hard and sharing all your "stuff."
