Happy Valentine's Day! 2018

I haven't had to worry about Valentine's Day boxes for a couple of years now, since all of my kids are out of elementary school.  But this year, Dallin surprised me with an announcement...he needed a box to decorate because all of his friends wanted to get together and exchange Valentines.  So cute!

This is what he came up with on the day of the party.  (Clever boy!)

This is the front view

And here is a side view

He had a good time at the party with his friends and came home with his Valentine's box stuffed with treats and surprises.  It made me smile that my senior in high school wanted to trade Valentines with his friends!  I bought him some "Star Wars" Valentines and he gave those with some chocolate kisses.  Fun stuff!

And this is what I woke up to on the morning of Valentine's day from Todd.  A cute set of "puzzle" key chains for us to share.   I took the piece, "You fit me perfectly."  And he took the other one.  He even put it on his keys, which is very unusual, because he doesn't like clutter on his keys.  Cool huh?

Thanks honey!
Happy Valentine's Day! :)

Random Pics January 2018

I wonder what it's like to be a dog...doesn't look too bad! :)

Ignore the dirty windshield, but I was out driving one day and noticed all the "4's" on our speedometer, and I thought it was cool, so I decided to take a picture.  I really wanted to get a shot of 144,444, but I accidentally passed it up.  Bummer.  When we bought this car, I think it had around 85,000 miles on it.  We have driven it for about 9 years!  Crazy, huh?

This winter has been seasonably warm!  We have hardly had any snow at all.  I had forgotten what snow looked like, so when it finally snowed, I had to take a picture.  It really is pretty when it snows.  And I like it okay, as long as I don't have to be out driving in it! :)

Just a couple of cards I made...

Todd and I are trying to clean out our storage room to get ready to put in some shelves, and I finally decided it was time to part with our wedding bouquet.  I have saved it for almost 27 years.  My mom made it and I have always loved it.  The colors were beautiful together and my mom did an amazing job arranging it!  I'm kind-of sad to let it go, but I really don't have room to store it.
So here's a picture...(the colors were peach and teal.  The teal flowers turned a dark gray through the years, but you can see that some of the ribbon stayed teal.)

I'm still wondering what it's like to be a dog...

This is a picture of all of the Christmas cards we got last year from friends and family.  I love seeing my front door full of beautiful families around Christmas time!  We are very blessed to have so many people in our lives!

We usually do the chocolate fountain on New Year's Eve, but we didn't get it all out this year.  So one January evening, we melted some chocolate in the microwave, and had our own homemade "chocolate fountain."  Trust me, it still tasted just as good!

Hey, where's Batman?  Oh there he is! :) (I love that game!)

Happy January!

New Years Eve 2017!

We spent New Years Eve with our 3 younger kids.  Brandon was invited to hang out with his friends, so he didn't spend the evening with us.  (Apparently he had a better offer! HA!)

We played some games, of course.

Don't let all their sad faces deceive you.  We had a "wild" party together! :)

(And Ziggy really wanted some of those crackers!)

These pictures totally crack me up!  Funny kids!

At least I'm having fun! :)

Todd and Jacob

Dallin.....um...enjoying the game too!

I'm still happy!  (And so is Ziggy!)

Hey, a smile!

Melissa and Jacob

This was our new favorite treat this year!  They were so yummy!

After a couple of hours playing games upstairs, we went downstairs to watch a movie!
The fun continued...as you can see!  HA!

Almost midnight!

Melissa and Jacob...still having fun!

Happy New Year!  Monday, January 1st, 2018 is here!

More proof...

And now it's time to go to bed! :)

We had a good time.  And now it's 2018!
I can't believe how quickly life is passing by.  (Todd and I will turn 49 this year!)  UGH! :)

Happy New Year everyone!

Christmas Break 2017

Christmas break this year was only for about 9 days.  It went by way too quickly and felt really short.

Dallin and Jacob had their piano recital the day after Christmas.  They both did such a great job!  (Can you believe how grown up they're both getting?)

Dallin

Of course, one of our activities over Christmas break was going to Leatherby's.
It's a tradition, after all.

And me and my mom, of course!

I'm sure you'll never be able to guess what our second activity was?  Yep, Spaghetti Factory!  (Was there any doubt?) :)

Have you ever had a hard time cutting the loaf of bread at Spaghetti Factory?  Well, this one was impossible, for some reason.  I was the first one to slice a piece off and I admit it, it was a little smashed, and everyone laughed at me as I struggled to cut it.   But then Dallin took a turn!  HA!  It was hard for him too, and we all got a kick out of it.  (Nobody could cut it well, even Todd!) :)  I tried to get some pictures of it, but you can't see it very well.
Trust me though, it was pretty much destroyed!

(I love the expression on Dallin's face...it wasn't as easy as he thought it would be!)

See the smashed bread? HA!  (And for the record, the second loaf we received wasn't nearly as hard to cut as the first.)  Just saying...

"Just one more sip before we go!"

We had a great time, as always. The proof is in the pictures.
(We aren't slobs though, I promise!) :)
