We had our annual Johnson Halloween party a couple of weeks ago. We always have such a great time! I'm so glad we get together for this every year!
Michelle and Grandma
We each usually plan a game and a treat. The last couple of years, Brad has brought the game "Fear Factor." He plans 5 rounds, with each round getting grosser than the last. It's pretty funny. We can all play, but we can also quit at any time. If we complete a round, we get a treat. And everyone who finishes 5 rounds gets a bigger surprise. (1st, 2nd, 3rd--whoever finishes the fifth round first gets to choose out of the 3 prizes and so on...)
The first round is usually pretty easy....like a sweet and sour piece of candy. But, after that, the mixture of foods Brad comes up with for each round are pretty gross. Not like bugs or anything. He does offer real food, but the mixes are pretty disgusting.
Here are a few pictures of the gang at the beginning of Fear Factor...
Jacob doesn't look too happy...
Oh yeah, and one more rule is that you can't spit it out. In order for a round to count, you have to swallow the food. Yuck!
Brad's kids always win! The Jones kids usually only try the first couple of rounds, and then they give up. Of course, I don't even try the first round, so I don't blame them. Either way, it's pretty funny! (These guys are eating dry sardines)!
And then we played a simple bean bag game. The kids really liked that one too.
And this is Joshie eating the dried sardines right out of the bag. He actually liked them! Gross! (But, to each his own, right?) :)
After the games, we always watch "It's a Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown." It's always such a fun evening.
Here is the treat I made. Cupcakes with a plastic "finger." Doesn't get much better than that, does it? HA!
We had a great time! Halloween just wouldn't be the same without our Johnson party. Happy Halloween!
