February Surprise Continued.....

Here are a few more of the quotes I've pulled out of the jar from Todd this month. It's been so fun!

1. "We're such a great team! You're strong in all the areas that I am not." I wonder sometimes if those strengths and weaknesses are equal. I don't think so. He's definitely stronger in so many more areas than me.....but I DO have some real doozies on him. :) Hopefully they bear more weight in the end, so it does seem more even...hee, hee.

2. "You're a terrific mother to our children. My admiration for you continues to grow through the years." I wasn't sure if I should include this one on the list for everyone to read.....sometimes I believe that, other times I don't. So I'll just say, "Thanks, honey. I know I have a lot of improvements to make, but I'm trying." (Although I did make cinnamon rolls again, so that's got to count for something, right?)

3. "You have the 'pure love of Christ.' Charity is second-nature to you." That's just plain sweet.

4. "You can be quite fliratious when you want to be." That's probably true (and that's all I'm going to say about THAT)....

5. "You file our tax return every year. How cool is that?!" It's VERY cool! Totally awesome! It helps that I LIKE doing it though, so he's just lucky! (But don't ask me to do anything hard. My knowledge of tax-return stuff is very basic and limited. Luckily we don't own our own business or have real-estate. Otherwise, he'd be doing it).

6. "Nerds and free-spirits unite! You're the best with the family budget!" This is in reference to a Dave Ramsey course we took together. Very imformative, by the way. But basically I am the nerd (because I'm obsessed with the budget---and sticking to it) and he's the free-spirit. Although he isn't a total spender (luckily), or I'd never survive. And by the way....I'm PROUD to be a nerd!

7. "Being with you is my greatest stresss-relief. When things get crazy for me, I find great peace in your arms." That's funny because that's exactly how I feel about him. Weird how that works, huh?

8. "Your willingness to sacrifice. Who else would drive 5 hours from Rexburg to see me?" Before Todd's mission, I went to Ricks and he went to BYU for a year. Probably 90% of those weekends, I drove from Rexburg to SLC.....but sometimes I'd even go all the way to Provo to be with him on Friday night. I think he came up to Rexburg to see me once.....but who's counting? I got the guy in the end, and that's all that matters! (It sounds like I totally chased him down, doesn't it? But if I recall, he wasn't complaining).

9. "You let me get the 'A' in our marriage prep. class at BYU." This is just outrageous, but so true! We took a marriage prep class together when we were engaged. We shared a book. And by "sharing" I mean, he had it 30 % of the time and I had it the rest. He got an "A" in the class....and me? I got a "C." He's so stinking smart. But I've always said that between us, we'd have a "B" marriage. That's better than average, right? (I guess I just needed more "on the job" training)....

These have been so fun to open each day. And I still have 6 more days to go. Thanks so much, honey! I have loved every one of them!

Are you so bummed February is over? You need to think of a tradition like this for St. Patty's day...hmmm..."I'm so lucky to have you" daily messages.
