The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe

Jacob tried out for the Bonneville Jr High play, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.  He was cast as Fenris Ulf, the wolf (the White Witch's mean assistant). This was his very first play and he had a lot of lines to memorize.  He did a fantastic job! (And I'm not biased at all!) :)

Here are a few pictures of him getting ready before the play.

What a mean-looking wolf!  HA!

Jacob did such an awesome job.  He had a death scene and he played it out wonderfully!  I was so proud of him!  (And he was pretty "mean" too!)

Here he is, bowing, at the end of the play.

But he doesn't look mean in this picture!
Way to go Jacob! (Proud Mom moment!)

My sweet boy (who is not mean at all!) :)

The whole play was magnificent!  Everyone did an amazing job!
You rock, Jacob!  :)  Good job!

January 2017

Dallin got these really cool sugar cookies from a friend of his for accompanying her in Sacrament Meeting.  They were pretty awesome!  And it might be hard to tell from this picture, but they were quite large.  Of course that didn't stop Dallin (or any of the other kids) from eating them all.  I just thought they were so cute, I had to take a picture. :)

Riley (my niece) asked me if I could tend her little girl a couple of weeks ago.  Her name is Aaleyah (Uh-lee-uh) and she is 9 months old.  She is so stinking cute!

Waving "Hi!" :)

Aaleyah was very comfortable around Ziggy, but Ziggy had a rough day with a new little person around.  He didn't quite know what to think of her.  It was pretty funny.

And here's a picture of my "baby" holding a baby! That just blows me away! (I don't even know what else to say about that...UGH!)

It was a fun day, but I was tired by the end of it.  I can totally understand why we have babies when we're young and have lots of energy!  Still, Aaleyah was a sweetheart and it was great spending some time with her.

New Years Eve 2016!

We had a fun New Year's Eve this year.  We played some games, ate some food, and watched a movie.  (Our "go-to" family activity night!)  The first game we played was the candy bar game.  I was doing okay at the beginning, but by the time the 1st round was over, I had NOTHING!

Pictures after the 1st round...

Kyle

Dallin

Jacob

And check out Todd's loot! :)  (No wonder he's so happy!)

And this was me!

So, the family took pity on me and we played another round.  This is how it all ended up...

Even when my kids get candy bars, they still don't smile!

At least Todd is smiling!  Geez!

And Dallin seems grateful for his winnings...

And look at me!  I got two!  Of course they are my favorites, so it was awesome!!!

Then, we played the game Ticket To Ride.  It was really fun.  Poor Kyle kept having to change his route because we kept using his pathway.  HA!  I think Dallin won the game...if I remember right.

Then we watched a movie...and I can't even remember which one...so that is just sad.  (It's been almost 2 months since New Year's Eve.)  But I do remember that we had a good time.  The Joneses know how to party.  HA! (not really!)

Do you see all the excitement on their little faces?  :)

Jacob had gone to bed just before midnight, so I snuck into his room and took a picture of him at 12:00.  He did wake up right after this shot was taken, so he was awake for all the important parts, right?

Now, if you ask him what happened that night, he will tell you that he only went and laid down for a few minutes, and then got up at midnight to say Happy New Years!  But...um...yeah, that's him sleeping. :)

Happy New Year!
(I'm totally trying not to laugh.  Plus, we're both trying to gross out our kids! HA!)

I had already taken my make up off before midnight, so I could go right to bed.  Yep, we party pretty hard around here. :)  So, this picture is post make-up removal.  (Don't look at all the wrinkles!)

Another year gone! Here we go again!  Welcome 2017!

Christmas Break Activities 2016

We only had a little over a week for Christmas break this year.  It wasn't long enough, so it was kind-of a bummer!  We mostly just relaxed, but we tried to do a few fun things too.

The day after Christmas, we all went to a piano recital for Jacob and Dallin. They both did an amazing job! (Jacob just started piano lessons a couple of months ago.)

Of course, we went to Spaghetti Factory.  That's a family tradition.  Eric and Andraea came too.  (Of course it was a free meal, so that might have been part of it...HA!)  Either way, it was fun to all be together as a family.  Sadly, everyone was sick of pictures by this time, so I only took a couple...

Of course we watched a few movies...and just like always, Ziggy had to be right in the middle of all of us.  How can that position possibly be comfortable?  His head is literally hanging off the couch! Crazy dog!

And Todd built this snow cave all by himself.  Good job honey!

We had a nice break, but it went by too quickly.  And now we are starting another New Year!  Please, can someone tell me how to slow this down?  :(

Merry Christmas 2016

Well, we did it again!  We had another Christmas!  They seem to come faster every year.  And this year was no different.  It came and went very quickly.

We're down to only 3 filled stockings!  What the heck? :)

Santa visited on Christmas Eve...

This is Christmas morning...

Of course Ziggy got a new toy also.

And it lasted for about an hour...crazy dog!

Kyle is totally into Pokemon these days...and do you see the smile on his face? :)

Dallin loves these 3D puzzles.  This one is from Harry Potter.  It's the Astronomy Tower.  Pretty cool, eh?  875 pieces!

And these are little Pokemon creatures that you put together (kind-of like Legos).  He'll have fun building those.  Dallin's into Pokemon right now too.  It's because of a new app (game) called Pokemon Go.  It is mostly played on your phone.  Every teenager, child, and even some adults are totally into this game.  It has made Pokemon very popular lately.

Jacob got a pill Kendama (a second one).  He loves playing with these little toys.  They take some practice, but they are fun.  (At least it's not another video game!)

Kyle got a new ipod!  Now he can play Pokemon Go too! (He doesn't have a phone.)  Poor Kyle...

Ever since Frozen came out, Jacob has wanted a little "Sven."
And this year he finally got one...

This is a keyblade from the game "Kingdom Hearts."  Now that's a real smile! :)

Jacob really wanted some "Heely's."  They are special shoes with removable wheels in the bottom.  They're pretty cool.

I think Todd is trying to figure out what this "sword" is all about...(Oh, I mean "keyblade."  Don't tell Kyle I called it a sword.) :)

Me and Todd on Christmas morning...

This was pretty much our first real snowstorm of the season.  It definitely snowed and just in time for Christmas!

Christmas was on a Sunday this year.  So we all went to church at 11:00.  We just had Sacrament meeting that day.  It's always nice to have Christmas on a Sunday when we can all worship Christ on the actual day of His birth.  It is His birthday, after all.

We had a great Christmas!  And the best part?  We got to talk to Brandon!!!!  But guess who forgot to take any pictures?  Yeah, that would be me! It was still a wonderful conversation though and Eric and Andraea were able to come and talk with him too.  Grandma Johnson was there also.  It was a great visit and the perfect present for all of us!

Merry Christmas!  :)
