Birthday celebration for Grandma Jones

We got together with the Jones family to celebrate Grandma Jones' birthday.  She would have turned 72 this year.  It's hard that she's gone.  I can't believe it's been 2 years. We all really miss her.

We had dinner (of homemade pizzas) and visited with the family.

Then Grandpa wanted us to watch a video of his 50th high school reunion.  It was pretty funny!  He was in a group who sang a few songs from "his" days and they danced too.  It was pretty entertaining...Can't you see us all entertained?  :)

The cousins had a great time hanging out together.  (Mike and Shauna's family weren't able to come because Shauna had just had surgery.  We missed them!)

Even the teenagers enjoyed it!  :)  And Uncle Ryan in the background...he was very interested.

Cute little Jasmine!  What a darling picture!  (And then there's Jacob in the background, probably intending to do "rabbit ears."   Such a boy!  :)

Towards the end, during some of the songs, the little cousins all started dancing together.  It was really cute.  Grandma Jones would have loved it!

It was a fun evening.  Happy Birthday Grandma!  We love and miss you tons!

Halloween Party 2013

We had our annual Halloween party with my brother and his family.  It was so fun!

(But first a few pictures of Jacob in the leaves in our front yard)...

Here are the "witches hats" I made for our treat for the party.  Cute, eh?

We played a really fun game.  Michelle brought glazed donuts and we hung them along a huge string, so the kids could bite them off (without using their hands, of course).  It was so funny!
I'm sad that most of these pictures are blurry...

And these are the treats my mom brought!  So cute, huh?  Little minion twinkie cupcakes!
The kids loved them...

We had a really fun time.  Of course we watched, "It's a Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown."  That's a tradition.  No matter how old the kids get, they all still love watching this movie together!

We went to Leatherby's!

Kyle didn't like the top flavor of his ice cream because it had nuts in it, so my mom decided she wanted it...But, she couldn't eat it just plain.  She needed some hot fudge topping.  So she asked the waiter to bring her some.  (Keep in mind here that the ice cream from Kyle's sundae wasn't that much...take a close look at the amount of fudge topping she got)...

And...yes, she used the entire cup!  It was pretty funny!

Grandma likes her some fudge topping!  We all had a great time!  :)

Fall Soccer for Kyle (2013)

Kyle had so much fun playing soccer this season.  He has really improved, even since last January. He's a good little player and isn't afraid of the ball.  He's been on an amazing team as well.  It has been a little intense for me to watch...I get nervous when my kids play.  But it's been great!

This is Kyle's friend, Shandis.  They were on the same team last January also.  They are good friends and they get along really well.  It's fun to watch them...they're both great little soccer players.

A lot of kids from Kyle's team want to play again another session...starting in just a couple of weeks.  So now Kyle wants to play again.  We're still discussing it, but it's looks like we may be continuing our "craziness" for a little longer.  But at least this time, they only have games on Saturdays...Fun times!

Fall Soccer for Jacob (2013)

We've had a very busy (and crazy) schedule the last 6 weeks or so.  We signed up Kyle and Jacob for Fall soccer.  Usually there's a practice during the week, and a game on Saturday.  But this season, the rec center decided to have two games a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Saturdays) and a practice during the week as well...and since we had 2 kids signed up, it got a little intense.  :)  We are down to our last two games this Saturday.

It has actually been really fun, just a little bit insane!  Here are a few pics of Jacob's soccer run...

He even got to be the goalie one time.  He really liked that...

And then, of course, at the end of each game, the kids got a treat.  (I think that was Jacob's favorite part of soccer)... :)

Here's a snapshot of his team on picture day.

It's been a fun season, but I'm ready for a little break.  :)
